Leisure 🌿🔥🐎
Be outside. Experience. Create memories.
There’s plenty to enjoy for both young and old: a playground, table tennis, table football – or simply the River Rur with its pebble beach. Walk barefoot through the water, skip stones, slow down.
Right from Camp-Hammer, a well-developed network of hiking, cycling and riding trails leads you deep into the wild Rur Eifel.
The Eifel National Park, covering more than 11,000 hectares, invites you to experience untouched nature – forests, water and wildlife – partly on barrier-free paths. Especially recommended are the free ranger-guided tours, offering fascinating insights into the natural world.
If you’d like an even deeper experience, you can also book a forest guide to walk with you and share knowledge and stories along the way.
Throughout the year, the surrounding region offers a wide variety of events and festivals: the Daffodil Festival, Eifel Sunday outings, Charcoal Kiln Days, Rursee in Flames, the Plum Festival in Einruhr and many more. Join in and celebrate!
Thanks to our central location, many highlights are just a short drive away: the Rursee with its water activities, the mystical landscapes of the High Fens (Hohes Venn), the Vogelsang Castle complex with impressive exhibitions (perfect for rainy days), the Eifel pearl Monschau, and of course the Eifel National Park itself.
On clear nights, the sky above Camp-Hammer reveals countless stars – and with a bit of luck, even the Milky Way, perhaps while you relax in our hot tub. ✨🌙
The Eifelsteig hiking trail and the Rur Riverside Cycle Path run directly past Camp-Hammer.
🔥 Campfire moments & togetherness
True camping magic happens around our campfire and barbecue areas: crackling flames, relaxed conversations and lots of laughter – spontaneous, warm and unforgettable.
🐎 Pony walks through the forest
Ever dreamed of being Yakari? Our pony walks let children experience nature up close. Together we collect the ponies from the pasture, groom and saddle them, then set off through forest and meadow.
The route is about 4 km long; children take turns riding while the rest is explored on foot with all senses.
Duration: approx. 1.5–2 hours
Group size: max. 4–5 children per pony
Meeting point: reception
Helmets: provided | Footwear: sturdy shoes required
📌 Registration & dates at reception

The truly wonderful is often found in simplicity and in the moment.
